The Swedish Forest Industries is boosting its industrial policy department by recruiting Emma Berglund. She will be focusing on international and EU forest-related policies.
“The number of EU policies affecting forests and forestry is increasing. This is a welcome addition of relevant competence to our organisation, since Emma Berglund has solid experience of working on EU issues from her previous roles,” says Magnus Berg, Head of Business Policies at the Swedish Forest Industries.
Emma Berglund comes most recently from a position at the Federation of the Swedish Family Forest Owners. Prior to that she was Secretary General of the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF) in Brussels.
“I am very much looking forward to strengthen the Swedish forest industry’s involvement in EU policy development. We need to increase the understanding of how forests contribute to a circular bioeconomy and a more sustainable future,” says Emma Berglund, new Forest Director at the Swedish Forest Industries.
Emma is a forester who holds both a Master of Science in Forestry from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and a Master of Forestry from the University of British Columbia in Canada.
